SHEDIAC, NB – Saturday’s street stock 75-lap feature race at Centre for Speed will see the winner receive $1500.00. If the field of cars is 24 the winner takes home $2000.00. The event is part of the 21stAtlantic Championships two-day event. The total purse payout for the street stock race will exceed $6000.

Tim Wile, track owner, and his group are very pleased with the support thrown behind the street stock race.

“We have worked closely with Tom at the Nicholls Group in making this a big day for the street stock drivers and our fans.”

Nicholls echoed Wile’s sentiments.

“The Atlantic Championship’s has been an event Islanders look forward to each year. With Covid-19 our track in PEI was not able to operate this year. I took it as a challenge to do something to help out our drivers and it grew from there, now helping other drivers in the region”.

The PEI drivers will receive free bridge passes to travel to the race.  As well Nicholls was able to raise money for the purse through sponsorship that Wile matched dollar for dollar.

“I made it into a 24-hour challenge and it faired out very well,” said Nicholls. “We have 10 sponsors from PEI that stepped up to assist with getting the drivers to Shediac, including Winsloe Irving, Taylor Built Rentals, Kevin Quinn Remax Realtor, Gass’s General Store, Dalziel’s Collision Center, Oyster Bed Esso, and others.”

The purse pays through 10th-place with a guaranteed $125.00 to start.

The 21st-annual Atlantic Championships at the Centre for Speed marks the end of the 2020 season for the facility.

Racing begins on both days at 1 pm.  For information please visit www.centreforspeed.com.
