When Brian Northrup set out to Oxford Plains Speedway in Maine this weekend it was to fulfill a longtime bucket list wish to race at the famed track on the Oxford 250 weekend. Not only did he check the box on the bucket list but finished third in the Wicked Good Vintage Racing Association feature.

“Words cannot describe the feeling of being parked in Victory Circle on the podium and looking up at all those fans,” Northrup said post-race.

Northrup, from Shubenacadie (NS), wheeled his No. 44 1972 Chevy Nova to the podium on the Saturday night portion of the Oxford 250 weekend. Crew for the trip included Harry Ross White, Kirk Alexander, and Brian Newton. The car was prepared for Oxford with the help of SFR Racing led by Frank Fraser.

The Oxford 250 is set for Sunday with over 60 cars expected including two Nova Scotia entries…Cole Butcher in his familiar No. 53 and the King Racing No. 13 with Maine’s Cassius Clark at the wheel (defending race champion).
