JAMES RIVER, NS – Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake) put his name in the history books by winning the Series 250th race – the East Coast International 150 at Riverside International Speedway. Butcher now has a hat-trick of victories in the 2023 season. Current point leader Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay) hunted Butcher through the final turn but had to settle for second. Mike Rodgers (Moncton, NB) was gunning for his first career win and picked up the R&D Performancentre Most Laps Led award but some late cautions ultimately left him in third. Russell Smith Jr (Lakeside) also came close to his first series win and battled Rodgers at the head of the pack most of the race. Donald Chisholm (Antigonish) kept himself in the mix and completed the top five.

Rodgers and Butcher won their Atlantic Tiltload heat races which set the field for the East Coast International 150. Smith Jr won the Kenny U Pull Hard Charger Award. Matt Vaughan was the Fast Eddie Racewear Lucky Dog. Jordan Veinotte (Porter’s Lake, NS) was the rookie of the race.

Prior to the racing action, nine drivers with over 100+ starts on the Series were awarded the very first Legacy Awards – a recently launched program that will recognize drivers when they reach milestone achievements on the track.
