Hall Wins Atlantic Championships Pro Stock 150 at Centre for Speed October 10, 2022 Regional Cory Hall (Jolicure, NB) added an Atlantic Stock Car Championships title to his already impressive resume on Sunday by winning the Pro Stock 150 at the CENTRE For Speed. Hall dominated the race at the 3/8-mile oval outside of Shediac, New Brunswick, racing to the convincing win ahead of Ryan Messer (Harvey, NB). Tanton Wooldridge (Summerside, PE) finished third in only his second Pro Stock start with the 28 Racing Team. Lonnie Sommerville (Barnesville, NB) and Brent Roy (Hanwell, NB) completed the top five in the 11-car field. Michael Cormier (Grand-Barachois, NB) pulled off a successful and historic double duty on the weekend by winning both the Atlantic Stock Car Championships for Late Model Sportsman on Saturday and Street Stocks on Sunday. Cormier held off hard-charging rookie Caleb Urquhart (Harvey, NB) and Clark Moore (Saint John, NB). The Street Stock 100 victory on Sunday for Cormier was a more difficult challenge as he had to top 17 others. Martin Landry (Scoudouc, NB), who also cut his teeth racing at the CENTRE For Speed, finished second with Mitchell Arsenault (Summerside, PE) third. Brad MacLean (Miramichi, NB) and Nick Cudmore (Petitcodiac, NB) put on a show in the closing laps but failed to make the podium for their late race charge. Nine Mile River, Nova Scotia produced both Four Cylinder winners along with the Bandolero champion on Atlantic Stock Car Championships weekend. Dave Matthews captured the Mini Stock 100 on Saturday after both Mitchell Montgomery (Summerside, PE; out of fuel) and Matt Watson (Miscouche, PE; incident) were both sent to the back on a final restart with seven laps to go. For Matthews, it is his third Atlantic Stock Car Championships win in the last ten editions of the event. Neil Miousse (Miramichi, NB) was second while Watson recovered for third. The Mini Stock 100 saw the biggest field of the weekend with 26 starters in the event. “Big Daddy” Kenny Hopper capitalized on a bad late race restart for leader and teammate Jamie Dillman (Carroll’s Corner, NS) to take the win in the Four Fun 50 on Sunday. It was not easy though as Hopper held off a determined Daniel Atyeo (Chipman, NB), who came back from a transmission change Saturday night to run second on Sunday. Dillman recovered from the final restart to finish third on Sunday afternoon in the 50-lap race. Eighteen drivers started the event. Dawson Noble is also bringing gold back to Upper Nine Mile River, Nova Scotia as the Atlantic Stock Car Champion for Bandoleros. Noble built and maintained the lead over Chase Livingston (Springhill, NS) and kept it to the finish of the 20-lap feature. Daniel Vandenburg (Lower Onslow, NS) finished in third. All three podium finishers have Legend cars in their stable and the Atlantic Championships marks one of the last scheduled races in the Bandolero careers of both Noble and Livingston. It was a Miramichi sweep of the podium in the combined Bomber and Ironmen feature as Johnathan Dickson raced to the win in front of teenagers Alex Duguay and Axten MacLean. The trio had a close race in both the heat race and feature events, thrilling fans from start to finish in the 35-lap main to close off the afternoon on Saturday. The Atlantic Modified Tour contested the penultimate round of the 2022 season with the running of Tim’s Corner Motorsports 50. One of the Series’ long-time competitors Doug Matchett (Miramichi, NB) picked up the win in the race over Yves McCray (Neguac, NB) and Chris Wilson (South Esk, NB). The TCM 50 marked the first time the Series returned to the CENTRE For Speed since 2014. Please note all results are unofficial.
