The Martins Home Heating 125, one of the season’s most prestigious sportsman races, is scheduled for Saturday night. It’s the first of three major sportsman races at Speedway 660. The winner’s share of the purse is $2000.00. The race is scheduled for 6:30PM Saturday, with a rain date on Sunday at 2PM, if necessary.

“My wife Anne and I have always loved sportsman racing and we are proud to be long time marketing partners with Speedway 660 by sponsoring the weekly sportsman division and this race,” said Richard Martin. “The race has an additional 25 laps this year, so that makes it the Martin’s Home Heating 125 and I know it’ll attract fans and race teams from all over the Maritimes for an exciting night of racing.”

The Martins Home Heating Sportsman Division at Speedway 660 has a strong roster of drivers which includes many seasoned veterans and several sensational young guns. But they won’t be the only ones chasing first place prize money in the Martins Home Heating 125. Visiting drivers, from around the region, as well as a few top pro stock drivers are also expected to show up for the big race in competitive sportsman cars.

“We have really great competition in our Weekly Championship Point races, but this weekend the competition will ratchet up a notch when guys like Lonnie Sommerville, Matt Harris, Dave O’Blenis, Andrew and Matt Rodgers and other drivers head our way for the 125” said Ryan Messer, Speedway 660’s 2015 Rookie of the Year. “Competition drives our sport and we’re going to have to be at the top of our game to get a good finish in this race, but the experience of running against these guys is only going to make us better in the future.”
