Josh Collins, from Placentia, Newfoundland, will become Atlantic Canada’s first full-time driver on the NASCAR Pinty’s Series (NPS.) Collins has two NPS starts on his resume, both in 2015, with the Joey McColm/ Canada’s Best Racing Team (CBRT), with whom he will partner for this year’s full-time run. Last year he became the first driver from Newfoundland to compete in a NASCAR touring series.

Collins is a veteran racer at Eastbound International Speedway in Avondale, Newfoundland, has several starts on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour, as well as having competed at this February’s World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

Collins will drive the No. 25 in this year’s NASCAR campaign which starts May 22 at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Fraserville, Ontario. It will be his first-ever road course race where he will test his skill after training with road-course ace JF Dumoulin in Mont Tremblant, Quebec this past fall.

McColm will step out of the driver role to become the crew chief and general manager for  CBRT, setting the bar high for Collins as he hunts for a NASCAR championship and the Josten’s Rookie of the Year honors.   Collins will be competing against driver Kevin Lacroix of St-Eustache, Quebec for Rookie of the Year.

Collins teammates at CBRT include Kevin Poitras of Toronto, Ontario, veteran stock car racer Robin Buck of Campbellville, Ontario, and Mel Shaw of Voorhees, New Jersey, combined to bring more than 40 years of racing experience to the team.
