Dave Mutch, owner of the No. 91 pro stock team from Prince Edward Island, has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma and amyloidosis, a rare, life-threatening illness which has attacked his heart. He has undergone treatment in Halifax, and is currently receiving treatment at the QEH. He will continue to be seen in Halifax and will also require trips to an amyloidosis specialist in Toronto. Dave’s spirits remain high, and he’s a joy to be around, lighting up every room he enters with his ever-present sense of humour and infectious grin.

Dave is the owner of Wendell Taylor’s Garage, and he works closely with his 10 devoted employees. He is very passionate about stock car racing and is involved with the Pro Stock tour throughout the Maritimes. He is a very loyal friend who enjoys hosting get-togethers, as well as cooking for his family and friends. Dave is also an active member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Stratford.

Dave is well known for his kindness and generosity to others, and now he is the one in need of help.

A fundraiser has been planned by a group of his friends with all proceeds going to Dave and his family. The benefit dance on Saturday, October 18 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. will feature live music by MacBeth. It is being held at Murphy’s Community Centre, 200 Richmond Street, Charlottetown. Tickets are $10 (advance and at the door).
