GREAY, NB -When the checkers flew on the 2023 edition of the ReCar 150 presented by Wonder Auto & Tire at Speedway 660, fans were witnessing a finish that would be forever enshrined among the greatest of all time. And so the stage is set for the potential of another historic moment during the 2024 edition of the ReCar 150 presented by Wonder Auto & Tire on Saturday, August 17 at Speedway 660, the championship season finale for the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series.

ReCar and Wonder Auto and Tire’s event sponsorship in 2024 will mark the second of a three-year partnership between the organizations, Speedway 660, and the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series.

The ReCar 150 presented by Wonder Auto & Tire will have a high bar to meet to follow up on the barnburner of one year ago. That day saw competitive action all race long, with up to seven cars battling for the lead in a pack at one point. It was the race that saw Chris Duncan’s infamous backstretch flip – a spectacular wreck that was arguably overshadowed by last-lap antics between race leaders Cory Hall (#83) and Ashton Tucker (#2) as they wailed on each other racing to the checkers. Hall would emerge victorious and become the first two-time winner in Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series history.

“It’s safe to say ReCar and Wonder Auto and Tire’s venture as a sponsor with Speedway 660 and the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series got off to a memorable start in 2023,” commented Race Director Brent Roy. “Year two promises to be equally thrilling, and with the champion being crowned as part of this race. There’s no question there is nowhere else to be on August 17.”

ReCar is a pre-owned vehicle retailer that has been revolutionizing how used cars are sold with fixed, no-hassle prices and non-commissioned vehicle advisors. It’s called “how car buying should be”. A proud Atlantic Canadian brand, ReCar has over 300 Certified vehicles available at dealerships in Moncton, Fredericton, Saint John, Woodstock in New Brunswick, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and online at Recar.ca.

Wonder Auto and Tire is a local homegrown success story from New Brunswick’s Capital City. Opening in 1977 in Fredericton as Wonder Muffler, they have grown and expanded across the Maritimes by offering quality products at a competitive price as a one-stop auto repair shop! You can find them online at WonderAuto.com, and at their 8 locations across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia including their Fredericton locations at 47 Main St. and 771 Prospect St. along with locations in Saint John, Oromocto, Moncton and Riverview in New Brunswick and both New Glasgow, and Halifax in Nova Scotia.  Wonder Auto and Tire became part of Shift Auto Group in 2023.

With the dramatic late race win, Cory Hall emerged as the leader in Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series victories as he became the first two-time winner in series history. While he came up just short of a championship during the inaugural season, Hall has this race circled on his calendar in a big way as he eyes a championship in year two.

“We’re excited with the news of ReCar and Wonder Auto & Tire coming back to Speedway 660 in 2024, even better that it’s the SLMS finale,” Hall said. “Winning the event last year was a great turning point in our team’s year, putting us back in the hunt for a top 3 in points. The team can’t wait to get back and try to claim not just the race win this year, but hopefully the championship title! The competition has been the best in the Maritimes for the SLMS and Speedway 660 hosts great racing, making this a combination fans won’t want to miss!”

The Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series commences its second season of competition on Saturday, May 11 at Petty International Raceway with the Fog City Auto Spa 150. Over the span from May to August, six races will be held culminating with the grand finale during the ReCar 150 presented by Wonder Auto and Tire at Speedway 660 on Saturday, August 17.
