WASHINGTON, DC – 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion Martin Truex, Jr., along with his girlfriend Sherry Pollex and members of his No. 78 race team, were honored by United States President Donald Trump Monday at the White House. Truex’s race car was also on hand.

Trump said he was a fan of NASCAR and impressed with Truex’s run for the title in 2017; he also lauded Pollex for her strength and the example she has set through her courageous fight with cancer. Truex presented the President with a replica helmet.

Visiting the White House and meeting the President has become a tradition over the past several years and is touted by many champions as one of the most favorite perks of winning the title.
