RIVER GLADE, NB – Petty International Raceway is set to welcome stock car teams from across Atlantic Canada with the inaugural Bumper to Bumper Summer Shootout beginning on Thursday evening. This four-day showcase of speed will see five unique classes of stock cars competing for an event title over the New Brunswick Day long weekend. Racing on Thursday, August 1st and Friday, August 2nd begins at 7 pm, the action on Saturday, August 3rd goes green at 4 pm with the Bumper to Bumper Summer Shootout champions being crowned beginning at 2 pm on Sunday, August 4th.

Entries continue to trickle in for the event, which will officially kick off on Wednesday with an optional practice and Pit Party presented by R. Stevens Mechanical. Four divisions will compete on each of the four days, including the Late Model Sportsman, Street Stock, Mini Stock, and LBT Pallets Bandolero. The Bandolero division will be split into two groups, one for the Beginner drivers to Petty International Raceway and one for the more experienced Bandolero Bandit and Outlaw drivers. The Legend division will compete in Twin 30 lap features on the first and last day of the Bumper to Bumper Summer Shootout.

Each division will have a highlight day throughout the Bumper to Bumper Summer Shootout. The opening night on Thursday, August 1 will serve as INEX National Qualifier night for the Legend and LBT Pallets Bandolero divisions. Along with potential National championship point implications, the Legend drivers will be competing for provisional eligibility for INEX Asphalt Nationals taking place at Carteret County Speedway in Swansboro, North Carolina in October.

Friday night, the Mini Stock division will take the spotlight with 100-laps of action. The Mister Transmission Mini Stock house class at Petty International Raceway has produced some of the most exciting fender to fender action all season and has had the most pre-registration action leading into the Bumper to Bumper Summer Shootout. To win the weekend-long title, a driver will have to bring their “A Game” to the high banked bullring and be able to not only survive the competition but also the race track over four hot Summer days. The Friday night race, broken into two 50-lap segments, is already shaping up to be one of the highlights of the weekend.

Saturday afternoon the Late Model Sportsman will take to the track for a 100-lap feature as their featured event for the Bumper to Bumper Summer Shootout. The race, which will also count towards the season-long A.E. McKay Builders Late Model Sportsman championship chase, is expected to draw some of the top Sportsman drivers from across the region with the class idle around the Maritimes on Saturday.

The Bumper to Bumper Summer Shootout Sunday will see the Street Stocks race to the front with a 100-lap feature of their own. Like their counterparts in the Late Model Sportsman class, the 100-lap showcase for Street Stocks will also count towards their season-long point championship as well as their Bumper to Bumper Summer Shootout points. Champions for the event will also be crowned following Sunday’s feature events.
