Speedway 660 Cancels Sunday Season Opener

UPDATE (May 17) – Due to the impending wet weather conditions and an early race day start for our drivers and crews and fans the decision has been made to postpone the Riverview Ford Lincoln’s season opener until next weekend Saturday, May 24, 2014. And don’t forget this will also be KIDS DAY. Double the excitement, kids come early to meet your favorite drivers in the pits. This will be a SATURDAY NIGHT RACE under the lights. Green flag will fly at 7pm.

ORIGINAL POST (May 15) – The much anticipated 2014 short-track stock car racing season is scheduled to begin this weekend. Speedway 660’s Pre-Season Tech and Practice Day will be held at 1PM on Saturday, followed by the Riverview Ford Season Opener at 2PM on Sunday.

“Fans, race teams, our marketing partners and staff are all excited about the 2014 season and anxious to go racing this weekend” said Speedway 660’s Max Roy. “We had a long winter, followed by a late spring and we forced to postpone the season opener last weekend, but things have dried up a lot over the last few days and we are ready to go this weekend.”

Fans will see action in five exciting divisions including the Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stocks; Martins Home Heating Sportsman; DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stocks; The Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters and; the West Wood Estate Apartments Bandoleros.

“We know everyone in our racing community is looking forward to the new season and we are confident 2014 will be a great year at Speedway 660” said Max Roy. “From now until the end of SpeedWeekend, on Labour Day, we will be dedicated to providing our fans with an incredible brand of short-track racing in the Geary Woods.”

Some of the highlights of the 2014 season are: The Pro All Star Series on June 7th; the first ENDURO race on June 29th; the Maritime Pro Stock Tour on July 5th; Fan Appreciation Night on August 16th; the Night of Champions on August 23rd and; The Auto Value 250 on August 31st.
