Petty International Raceway is excited to announce a pair of new events for the 2024 season anchored by the U.S. Legend Cars International Legend and Bandolero cars. The Canadian U.S. Challenge will see both classes run three days, five-feature events – one in the heart of Summer from Friday, July 26 to Sunday, July 28 and another slated for the Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend from Friday, October 11 to Sunday, October 13.

Similar to popular multiple-day events that take place stateside for these two classes, teams can race in five features over three days and compete for checkered flags and event championships. Management is targeting these events to be INEX sanctioned and announcements on an INEX National Qualifier for the July event will follow when available.

An information meeting for interested Legend and Bandolero teams will take place at the Super 8 by Wyndham Truro, located at 85 Treaty Trail in Truro, Nova Scotia, on Thursday, December 21 at 7:30 pm. Further information about the Canadian U.S. Challenge will be discussed, including schedules, event format, registration, purse, and more. Any questions about the new event can be directed to Wayne Smith at Petty International Raceway.

In 2023, Tanton Wooldridge (Summerside, PE) took home the Petty International Raceway Legend championship with Hudson Ruff (Long Reach, NB) and Daniel Vandenburg (Lower Onslow, NS) capturing the Leisure Days RV Beginner and Bandolero championships, respectively. In total, 29 Legend and 21 Bandolero teams competed at Petty International Raceway during the 2023 season.

Management is hard at work preparing for a busy 2024 season and the Canadian U.S. Challenge is the first announcement ahead of the new year. A full 2024 schedule for Petty International Raceway will be unveiled when available.
