GEARY, NB – Brody Levesque (Fredericton) recovered from a broken axle one week ago to score one of the biggest wins of his career on Saturday night at Speedway 660. Levesque was credited as the winner in the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters 50 following post-race technical inspection.

Levesque battled with reigning champion Kyle Boudreau (Saint John) at the finish, taking the position and ultimately the win by less than a car length.

“That was quite intense for the last lap battle,” said Levesque following the race. “The boys and I put a lot of work into this car after last weekend and I cannot believe we pulled it off. This is wicked!”

BJ Gillespie (Nackawic) crossed the line first in the race but failed post-race technical inspection. It promoted Levesque to the win, Boudreau to second and Ryan Bernard (Harvey), driving for Allison Hall Racing, in third. Bryan Suttie (Keswick) and Scott Kennie (Fredericton) completed the top five. Sixteen Four Cylinder cars showed up to compete in the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters 50.

Gillespie and Kennie won heat races for the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters 50.

Greg Fahey (St. Stephen) worked from the back of the field to win the RE/MAC East Coast Elite Realty Pro Stock 50-lap feature. The win was the first on the year for the four time Pro Stock division champion. Dave O’Blenis (Boundary Creek), who won the first two feature events on the season in the division, wound up second with Lyttleton’s Ashton Tucker in third.

Brent Roy (Hanwell) and Tucker took home heat race victories in the RE/MAX East Coast Elite Realty Pro Stock class.

Alexandra O’Blenis (Boundary Creek) won an incredible battle in the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman division. O’Blenis battled to the outside of Jacob Logan (Harvey) for over 20-laps before taking the lead for good en route to her first win of the 2018 season. Point leader Drew Greenlaw (Eastport, ME) was able to slide in to second place at the finish of the 40-lap feature with Logan able to hold on to third.

Logan and Curtis Collins (Saint John) drove to the win in the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman heat races.
Justin Cole (Harvey) drove to his second DMR Auto Sales and Service Street Stock feature win in three weeks of racing on Saturday night. Cole was able to cross the stripe ahead of Shawn Hyslop (St. Stephen), who spent many late nights in the shop repairing his race car after an accident a week prior. Roger Slocum (Chipman) followed up his feature win on Kids Day with a third place finish.

Cole and Riley Goodwin (MacAdam) won heat races for the DMR Auto Street Stock division.

The next event for Speedway 660 is Saturday, June 16th as all four house divisions compete under the lights for valuable championship points in the fourth round of the 2018 season. Racing begins on Saturday night at 6:30 pm.
