NASCAR has announced penalties for Kasey Kahne’s No. 5 team after the car failed post-race laser inspection at Dover International Speedway on Sunday.

Kahne’s crew chief, Keith Rodden, has been fined $25,000 plus Kahne and team owner, Hendrick Motorsports, have each been penalized 15 championship points.

The points fine drops Kahne for 16th to 20th in driver standings.

In a statement, Hendrick Motorsports announced it will not appeal the penalty.

“We had an unintentional issue at Dover when our left- and right-side truck arms were bent at some point during the race,” said Rodden. “I’m disappointed in NASCAR’s decision, but we have to accept it and focus on the upcoming races. We have a great team with a lot of positive momentum that we hope to carry into the summer.”
