Regional racing legend Frank Fraser, from Shubenacadie, NS, has been named as a member of this year’s class of inductees to the East Hants Sport Hall of Fame.

Fellow inductees include Annie Woodworth (Softball & Golf), Billy Parker (Hockey), Jeff Smith (Hockey), Melvin Nelson (Community Builder), Merlin White (Community Builder), and

Noel Shore Shots (Softball). Fraser induction is for his accomplishments in Auto Racing, which are many.

Fraser has been involved with car racing his whole life. For 50 years he raced in the Maritimes, Ontario and the U.S. Frank has won over 100 races in his career and was always a fierce competitor wanting to build the best car to win the next race. He has been a racer, a race car builder, a team owner, a promoter, and a race director, a mentor and the Vice President of the Maritime Motorsport Hall of Fame. Frank’s two boys, Frank Jr. and the late Scott, both followed their fathers love for racing becoming builders and drivers. Frank has been inducted into the Maritime Motorsport Hall of Fame and the Truro Sports Hall of Fame.

The East Hants Sport Hall of Fame ceremony will be held November 5 at the Riverside Education Centre in Milford with tickets will be available at Scotiabank in Elmsdale starting September 6.
