RIVER GLADE, NB – Defending Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour champion Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) beat multi-time Pro All Stars Series (PASS) champion Ben Rowe (Turner, Maine) to win Sunday’s Atlantic Fleet Completion 150 at Petty International Raceway, the first PASS win of Butcher’s career. Butcher, part of the Kulwicki Development Driver Program (KDDP), also bested fellow-KDDP driver Derek Griffith (Hudson, NH) who finished third.

The race was a “Road to Richmond/Oxford” qualifier which means the top five finishers earned berths in their choice of either the Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Maine on August 26 or the inaugural Commonwealth Classic and Richmond International Raceway on October 20. Butcher and Griffith selected the Oxford 250 while Rowe selected the Commonwealth Classic. Fourth and fifth place finishers Kyle Reid (Sydney, NS) and Jonathan Hicken (Montague, PE) also selected the Oxford 250.

The fast-paced race saw just three cautions, the first coming on lap 2. lap 23, and lap 114. Butcher started from the pole and led the first 130 laps before being overtaken by Rowe. The two battled for the next 15 laps before Butcher retook the point and held on for the win with a 0.722-second margin of victory.

The Pro All Stars Series is back in action June 17 at Speedway 95 in Hermon, Maine. Petty International Raceway is back on track next Saturday, June 9.
