LAKE DOUCETTE, NS – The Maritimes newest stock car touring series is ready for its inaugural race this Saturday at Lake Doucette Motor Speedway. Over 20 cars have registered for round one of seven in the chase for the Auto World Allstar Sportsman Series 2022 championship. Teams will start arriving in southwestern Nova Scotia on Friday for practice at the 1/2-mile facility near Yarmouth in preparation for the R & D Performancentre 75 on Saturday afternoon. Maritime Car Wash Heat Races will set the field for the first-ever feature for the new sportsman series and the first-ever sportsman touring series race at the popular facility.

The entry list features everyone from a racing legend to rookies who hail from throughout Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Leading the way in experience is Frank Fraser, one of the most exciting racers to ever get behind the wheel of a stock car in this region. With hundreds of wins to his credit at tracks all over North America, Fraser is coming out of retirement to run with this series in a car built at his SFR Racing shop in Shubenacadie.

Other notable names on the expected entry list include former full-time super late model/pro stock tour racers Harry Ross White, Shawn Pierce, Pete Miller, and multi-time NAPA Sportsman Series champion Colby Smith. Local racers JP Arsenault, Kyle Hines, Lloyd Jeddrey, Doug Townsend, Justin Goodwin, Steve MacPhee, Shaun Burke, Jason Morris, Paul Morris will defend their home turf against the rest.
