HALIFAX, NS – John Flemming of Halifax added another Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour championship to his already impressive racing resume on Saturday night at Scotia Speedworld at the Dartmouth Dodge 200. Flemming and Jonathan Hicken (Brudenell, PE) battled within the final 20 laps for the victory after Flemming dominated the first 180 circuits of the event. Flemming developed a flat tire during the battle and was forced to pit under a caution with three laps to go.

Hicken drove onto the victory in the Dartmouth Dodge 200, his fourth win of the season and second career victory at Scotia Speedworld. Hicken held off Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake) and Shawn Tucker (Fredericton, NB) on the three lap dash to take Round 12 (of 12) of the 2014 Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. Shawn Turple (Enfield) and Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro) completed the top five.

Flemming, who won his fifth career championship with a 13th place finish, paced the field in the Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials with a 14.321 second lap and then drove away from the field to win the King Freight Dash For Cash. He also earned the Linde Most Laps Led Award, pacing the field for 180 laps. Dartmouth Dodge Heat Races were won by Antigonish’s Donald Chisholm and Terence Bay’s Craig Slaunwhite. Marty Prevost (Fall River) raced to ninth-place to earn the Exide Batteries Hard Charger Award.

Sarah McKay (Quispamsis, NB) officially became the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Year after the completion of the Dartmouth Dodge 200. McKay finished 2014 with a 20th place overall and her season was highlighted with one Dartmouth Dodge Heat Race win at Petty Raceway and one top ten finish in her freshman season at Speedway 660.

Scotia Speedworld’s Weekly Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman kicked off the day’s festivities with their final race of the 2014 season. DJ Casey (Prospect Road) won his second ever feature but it wasn’t enough to take the championship, as Darren Wallage’s (Oakfield) third place finish in the 50 lap feature secured that title for him. Phil Barkhouse Jr (Hammonds Plains) took the second spot on the night. Harry Ross White (Noel Road), who came in tied for first position, and Tony Leonard (Goodwood) rounded out the top five.

Flemming will officially receive his 2014 championship at the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Year End Award Banquet on November 22, in Dartmouth.
