RIVER GLADE, NB – Petty International Raceway is proud to host the golden anniversary of the oldest stock car race in Canada this weekend. The 50th running of the River Glade International will take place over two days with Friday’s show featuring the Jones Auto Body 100 for the Napa Cmax Sportsman and Saturday showcasing the Atlantic Dodge Dealers 150 for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour (PST).

The winners of both of these races will see their names etched on the majestic River Glade International Cup, joining legends in regional and Canadian stock car racing history, and will also receive as part of their winnings perhaps one of the most unique take-home trophies in the area, a grandfather clock hand-crafted by K. Hubley Woodworking and Contracting.

Besides being part of the International and a Petty points event, Friday’s show is also part of the New Brunswick Big Dawg Challenge series, which also includes Street Stock and Leisure Days RV Bandoleros, and pits competitors from Petty against their peers from Speedway Miramichi.

Russell Smith Jr. leads both the Petty and Big Dawg sportsman point standings while Cory Hall leads the Petty Bandolero standings and Courtney O’Blenis leads the Big Dawg Bandolero standings. JR Lawson leads both point battles for the Mini Stocks. Ken MacKenzie leads the Petty Street Stocks and Alexandra O’Blenis leads the Big Dawg Street Stock standings.

On Saturday the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour makes its last appearance of 2014 in New Brunswick for the Atlantic Dodge Dealers 150, round 10 of 12 en route to the series championship and a River Glade International event. They will be joined by the Maritime League of Legends in a 50-lap Atlantic Tiltload Challenge, as well as by the Mister Transmission Mini Stocks. John Flemming leads the pro stock chase for the championship with Fredericton’s Shawn Tucker just 26 markers behind – both former series champions will be looking to add to their resume in hopes of putting another title on their mantle.

Series sophomore standout Dylan Blenkhorn won the last PST outing at Petty this year and now has three victories on the season so will be hoping to add a fourth and see his name added to the long list of International winners. Local pro stock racers Tim Rodgers and Jason Carnahan are expected to enter the event along with Robbie Fraser who will make his pro stock debut. Six-time Maritime pro stock touring series champion Wayne Smith is also on the roster for the event.
