RIVER GLADE, NB – Management of Petty International Raceway is excited to announce their 2018 schedule of events. The schedule features 13 stock car racing cards over nine weekends from May to September with a number of popular events making a return.

Six local divisions will highlight the 2018 schedule and will each run for track championships. The top tier Late Model division will run point races on seven cards throughout the season plus the Fifth Annual Mike Stevens Memorial in September. The division will see a minimum of 50-lap races with the longest event of 125-laps coming during the 54th River Glade International on Friday, August 24th and twin 40-lap features on September 8th.

Westwood Estates returns to present the Street Stock division in 2018. Growth continues with the class with not only the return of the Westwood Estates Triple Crown event but with a new 100-lap event presented by Maritime Car Wash. The pair of 100-lap events will each pay $750 to win with the 75-lap features on the season paying $500 to win. The Westwood Estates Street Stock division will appear on nine events throughout the season including the Fifth Annual Mike Stevens Memorial in September. All Street Stock features will be a minimum of 50-laps with twin 40-lap features to be contested on their point finale on September 8th.

The Mister Transmission Mini Stock division has seen some of the most competitive racing in recent memory on the high banked bullring and will return once again in 2018. The Four Cylinder division will be featured on nine race cards with 50-lap features on June 9th, August 4th and September 21st.

Beginning in 2018, the former Four Cylinder “Women on Wheels” division will be known as the “Beginner Four Cylinder” class. Both Men and Women who are rookies to the sport can apply to track officials to be included in the division. The Beginner Four Cylinder class will run five races on the season, including May 18th, June 9th, July 20th, August 4th and September 8th.

The Leisure Days/CRC RV Bandolero division will return as the proving ground for young drivers looking to hone their skills on their rise through the stock car ranks. The young talent will showcase their skills in the INEX sanctioned division in nine events throughout the 2018 schedule.

The Atlantic Modified division will run five races at Petty International Raceway in 2018 and each race will count towards not only touring points but also to a track championship. Modified features will be 35-laps in length with 50-lap extended distance races scheduled for May 19th and August 4th.

In addition to the Atlantic Modified Tour, Petty International Raceway will host five additional touring divisions in 2018, the most of any oval track in Atlantic Canada this season.

As previously announced, Petty International Raceway will host the Pro All Stars Series in their only Maritime stop on their 2018 schedule. The 150-lap Super Late Model event will be a “Roads to Oxford and Richmond” event that will see the top five receive a guaranteed starting position in either the Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway (ME) in August or the Commonwealth Classic at Richmond Raceway (VA) in October.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour will return for three events in 2018. They will open their season with the Lucas Oil 150 on Saturday, May 19th, will return for a mid-season 150-lap feature on July 21st and anchor the 54th River Glade International weekend with a 200-lap race on August 25th.

The NAPA Sportsman Series will return to Petty International Raceway for a 100-lap feature as a part of the Sixth Annual Caleb Dunn Memorial Weekend on Saturday, August 4th. This is the first time the Antigonish, Nova Scotia Series will visit Petty International Raceway in over five years.

The Maritime League of Legends and the MJS Holdings Limited and Prime Lifts East Coast Mini Stock Tours will each stop at Petty International Raceway twice in 2018. The East Coast Mini Stock Tour will open their season with a race in River Glade on May 19th and return on the 54th River Glade International weekend on Saturday, August 25th. The Maritime League of Legends Tour will also be in town on Saturday, August 25th and will make a mid-season stop on Saturday, July 21st. Their feature races are each scheduled for 50-laps.

Two $10 admission nights have been added to the 2018 schedule. They include the Season Opener on Friday, May 18th and Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday, September 8th. House divisions will compete for double points on the opening weekend which includes the Friday, May 18th lid-lifter. Fan Appreciation Day will also include double features and the crowning of point champions in five divisions.

Fans can help out the Salisbury Helping Hands as a part of the Second Annual Salisbury Helping Hands Food Drive at Petty International Raceway on Friday, July 20th. Fans will receive a $10 admission with their donation of a non-perishable food item.

Please note, the $10 admission promotions are good for the front gate only on the race nights indicated. The Canadian National Autism Foundation (CNAF) Kids Race presented by Acura of Moncton returns for a second straight season on Saturday, June 9th. The next event on Saturday, July 7th will see the return of the popular MetalCore / D.R. Scrap Metal Night of Destruction which is highlighted by multiple Demolition events culminating in a Demolition Derby.

A number of staples within the Petty International Raceway schedule will return in 2018. These special events include the Sixth Annual Caleb Dunn Memorial on Saturday, August 4th, the 54th River Glade International weekend on Friday, August 24th and Saturday, August 25th and the Fifth Annual Mike Stevens Memorial presented by R. Stevens Mechanical and Carnahan Property Management to close the season on Friday, September 21st and Saturday, September 22nd.
