Shawn Turple of Enfield, NS battled from the back of the field after being involved in an incident on lap 105 to take his second victory of the season on Saturday night at Petty International Raceway. Turple took the lead from Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall, PE) on the last lap of a Green-White-Checkered finish after an exciting race in front of a capacity crowd. Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) completed the podium after edging by Brudenell, PE’s Jonathan Hicken. Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) rounded out the top five.

Atlantic Tiltload Qualifying started off an exhilarating night of racing and saw Turple, Blenkhorn, Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) and George Koszkulics (New Glasgow, NS) take the top spots in their respective Heat Races. Of the five different race leaders, Slaunwhite took home the Linde Most Laps Led Award after leading 57 laps. Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) was the recipient of the King Freight Lines Future Winners Award and the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Year Award with a seventh place finish.

The feature, slowed by 14 cautions, took nearly two and a half hours to complete.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour heads to Riverside International Speedway near Antigonish, NS next Saturday, June 17 for the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150.  Dylan Blenkhorn won the event last season and will look to repeat but hometown heroes George Koszkulics and former Series champ Donald Chisholm are always a threat at their home track. Atlantic Tiltload Heat Races are slated to start at 6:00 PM. Advance reserved and general admission tickets are available online at www.riversidespeedway.com; general admission tickets will be available at the gate on race day.
