JAMES RIVER, NS – The 2016 season finale for Riverside International Speedway is set for Saturday and will feature the second-to-last championship points races for both the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour (PST) and the NAPA Sportsman Series.

Both divisions will see extended length features, the Lucas Oil 150 for the pro stocks and the Highland Home Building Centre 75 for the sportsman. Extra laps for the racers means more strategy and endurance, and extra laps for the fans means more excitement. It’s a win-win situation.

Antigonish’s Donald Chisholm and New Glasgow’s George Koszkulics, both running out of Antigonish-based Nova Racing, will be looking to defend their home turf. Both drivers have multiple wins at the facility and Chisholm is the defending Lucas Oil 150 winner, the defending Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour champion, and the most recent PST winner at Riverside. But there will be a bevy of other top racers looking for a celebrated win on the fast 1/3-mile oval with 24 of the region’s top teams on the expected entry list.

In the pro stock points chase, Dylan Blenkhorn falls from the lead to sixth in the standings after a penalty was assessed for a rule infraction at the series event in New Brunswick on August 27. Cole Butcher takes over the top spot with a 34-point lead over Craig Slaunwhite (1945-1911). Chisholm is third overall, with 1885 points, Darren MacKinnon fourth at 1879, and Shawn Turple fifth at 1854. Find the full PST point standings here.
