The Martins Home Heating 100, one of the season’s most prestigious Sportsman races, is scheduled for 6:30 Saturday evening. It’s the first of three major Sportsman races at Speedway 660.

“I’ve been at this game for a long time and have come close to winning the Martin’s Home Heating 100 a couple of times and would like to finally get it done on Saturday night,” said veteran Sportsman driver Richard Atkinson. “Matt Matheson, our new crew chief, has been a big addition to our team in 2017 and after a couple of good runs early this season we feel like we’ve got a good shot come Saturday night.”

The Martins Home Heating Sportsman Division at Speedway 660 has a strong roster of drivers which includes many seasoned veterans and several sensational young guns. But they won’t be the only ones chasing first place prize money in the Martins Home Heating 100. Visiting drivers, from around the region, are also expected to show up for the big race in competitive sportsman cars.

“The Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman 100 is always a highlight of the season and after winning the feature last week, we feel like we have as good a chance as anyone of rolling into victory lane on Saturday night,” said John Rankin. “The first major Sportsman race of the season is always an opportunity to see how you stack up against some of the best drivers in our region and we look forward to facing that strong competition.”
