The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour will close out another season this Saturday at Scotia Speedworld with the Dartmouth Dodge 200. After 11 events at five venues across the Maritimes,it all comes down to the final 200 laps to decide who will be crowned the 2016 champion – and who will cash the $10,000.00 champion’s cheque. Please note the early start time for this event, qualifying will begin at 4:00 pm with Atlantic Tiltload heat races. Grandstand gates open at 1:00 pm.

Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) enters the season finale with a comfortable 51 point lead over 2015 Series champion Donald Chisholm (Antigonish, NS) who sits second following his win last weekend. Butcher will clinch the championship with a 21st place finish or better on Saturday, which is virtually assured with 19 teams on the early entry list for Saturday. Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) is third overall and too far behind the leader to gain enough points in one event to win the title.

Although the championship may be out of reach for those outside the top two, there is still a lot of cash on the line in the $50,000 point fund for other competitors who will be looking to improve or secure their year-end standings. The battle for second in championship points will be a great storyline to watch as Chisholm, Slaunwhite and Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE) sit within 30 points of each other heading into the finale.

The Exide Batteries Rookie of the Year battle will also be decided on Saturday as Harry Ross White (Kennetcook, NS) looks to take home that title and the accolades that go with it. Ross has a 49 point lead over fellow rookie Nevin Scott (Marshfield, PE). Both drivers will also be looking to lock themselves in the top 10 in year-end point standings.

A special pre-race ceremony will see Pierce Racing honoured for almost four decades in maritime motorsports, beginning with Dave Pierce who drove for many years before handing the wheel over to his son Shawn, current driver of the No. 21 car with series. Racing has been a family affair for the Pierce’s with other members a constant presence as part of the crew.

The Upper Clements Park Maritime League of Legends will contest a 50-lap feature prior to the Dartmouth Dodge 200.

Joe Chisholm and the crew from Race Time Radio will be streaming the Dartmouth Dodge 200 live from Scotia Speedworld. The broadcast will be available to listeners absolutely free via www.racetimeradio.com by clicking the “Listen Live” links in the upper right of the page, or by downloading their smart phone app, for iPad, iPhone, & Android.
