2010 Riverside Schedule Finalized

JAMES RIVER, NS (January 25, 2010) - Riverside International Speedway will mark its 41st season in 2010 with five big events spanning eight days sanctioned by five series including NASCAR - the largest, and best known, stock car race sanctioning body in the world.

The season will open June 19 with the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour which features the regions top racers; the CARQUEST Tour makes a second stop at Riverside August 14.

The fourth annual IWK 250 will be held July 17. In its relatively short history the IWK 250 has become known as on of the most prestigious short track stock car races in North America - drawing top racers from this region, the northeastern U.S. and guest drivers from NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series. The IWK 250 weekend will start July 16 with Sportsman and Legends racing.

August 27 and 28 will see a different kind of horsepower at Riverside as it is invaded by high-performance trucks and tractors competing in a two-day pull. The track surface, normally asphalt, is covered with clay to provide traction for the race rigs.

Riverside's 2010 season finale on September 18 will see the return of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series - its only stop east of Quebec. Riverside has become a favourite for the drivers of one of NASCAR's fastest growing developmental series and the event is a favourite with Maritime race fans. The NASCAR weekend will start September 17 with action for the Sportsman and Legends.

Riverside fans who are premium seat holders will be receiving 2010 renewals this week.
