Street Stock 50 Set for Sunday at Centre for Speed

Shediac, N.B. (July 2, 2009) -- The Centre for Speed will be the place to be on July 5 at 2:00 p.m. for South East Challenge Series stock car points racing action, including the Eastern Well Drillers Streetstock 50.
Top Street Stock drivers from throughout New Brunswick, PEI and Nova Scotia are expected to enter this first extended race of the season for 1970’s and 1980’s era rear-wheel drive ‘crash and bang’ race cars.
During last weekend’s action on June 28, a total of 57 competitors, including a full field of 24 Sportsman competitors, were on hand for the second leg of the South East Challenge Series, a partnership between the CFS and Riverglade Speedway where drivers in all four regular divisions of Sportsman, Street Stock, Mini Stocks and Four Fun race cars compete at both tracks for the overall 2009 points championships in their respective divisions.
This ‘edge of your seat’ event gets underway Sunday, July 5th at 2:00 p.m. with admission of $12 for adults, $5 for children 5 to 15 years of age, and FREE for children under 5. Front gates and grandstands open at 1:00 p.m.

The CENTRE for Speed, built in 1996, is home to the Atlantic region’s largest and fastest paved 3/8 of a mile stock car oval as its centerpiece. The CENTRE overlooks the Northumberland Strait and is located 5 kilometers east of Shediac’s Parlee Beach on Route #133 in the village of Grand Barachois.
