The Nova Racing stable fielded four cars for the event - for Donald Chisholm, George Koszkulics, Regan Smith and Aric Almirola. The entire team celebrated Smith's win...

The Top 10 Finishers...


NASCAR's Regan Smith was the winner - driving the same car that thrilled so many kids and their families at the IWK Health Care Centre last Thursday...(see hospital visit photos here)


Shawn Turple finished second...


Mike MacKenzie finished third...


Bobby White finished fourth...


John Flemming finished fifth...


Lonnie Sommerville finished sixth...


NASCAR's Aric Almirola finished seventh...


Wayne Smith finished eighth...


Greg Proude settled for ninth after leading twice for 61 laps...


Robbie MacLean rounded out the top 10...

IWK 250 Action...


Maine's Travis Benjamin (17b) beat Mike MacKenzie (02) to the finish line to win qualifying heat race # 2...


Two-time CARQUEST Tour champion Shawn Tucker was involved in a wreck during the first heat race...A hard-working crew got the repairs made in time for Tucker to win the Last Chance race...


Dale Holmes was involved in the same wreck as Tucker - and also able to effect repairs in time to qualify for the 250...



Pete Miller (92) and Dean MacInnis (01z) got together on the front stretch during the first semi. Neither was able to start the feature...


Lonnie Sommerville (23) and Donald Chisholm (89) led the field to the green flag for the 2008 edition of the IWK 250...


Dave O'Blenis (48), Kent Vincent (8) and John Flemming (97) race for position...


Robbie MacLean (01) races with George Koszkulics (88)...


Maine's Johnny Clark (54) led the most laps, at 106 of the 250 - racing with Shawn Turple (0) for many of them. Clark was sidelined with a flat tire late in the race - finishing 11th...


Mike Stevens (26), Shawn Tucker (52) and Brent Wiggins (17) in a tight battle...


Lonnie Sommerville (23) and Daryl Mahar (66) race for position as they pass Dale Holmes (4). Both Sommerville and Mahar led the race, Sommerville for 21 laps and Mahar for 32 laps...



Lap 81 saw Donald Chisholm get the worse end of an altercation with Greg Proude. Chisholm was running fourth at the time after starting on the pole and leading laps five to 29; officials sent Proude to the rear of the field for the restart...





A multi-car wreck in turn three on lap 110 involved top Tour runners John Flemming (97), Rollie MacDonald (13) and Kent Vincent (8). The wreck brought out a 12-minute red flag while track officials cleaned up the mess...


Johnny Clark (54) and Lonnie Sommerville (23) battled for the lead nose-to-tail and side-by-side from laps 115 to 168...


The closing stages of the race saw Shawn Turple (0) in hot pursuit of eventual winner Regan Smith (08)...
