    Tucker Wins - By Inches

Fans saw an exciting Forbes Chevrolet 100 this afternoon with Shawn Tucker winning by just inches over John Flemming, and Wayne Smith following for a close third. The photo finish saw Tucker and Flemming side-by-side for the last four laps after a late race restart. Coming off turn four for the checkered flag Tucker was high and Flemming low, neck-in-neck and door-handle to door-handle for the flag. Tucker's margin of victory was less than a foot over Flemming, so close the win was not called until the electronic scoring confirmed the finish.

Shawn Turple was fourth and Dave O'Blenis rounded out the top five. Only five cautions slowed the race which took less than an hour to complete.

Pole-sitter Donald Chisholm blew his engine while running second on lap 15, while chasing Greg Proude for the lead. Proude led the most laps (nine to 87) but was relegated to a 25th-place finish after a couple of late race spins.

    Race-Day Weather Update

    Saturday at 7:30 a.m.
It's very foggy in the Halifax area. Depending on which forecast you look at, it may or may not clear for later. We've sent a note to Tour officials seeking their "plan du jour."

    Saturday at 9 a.m.
We've not had a reply from Tour officials as yet...Unless it's wishful thinking on our part, it does seem like the sky is getting brighter - so hopefully this silly wet weather system is moving on out...

    Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
Heard from Tour Race Director Scott Alexander - they're going to try and get the show in! And, in spite of another shower, the sky continues to get brighter...

    Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
"We're still trying," is the official current status. Several heavy rain showers have passed through the area since our last update but series officials are still hoping for a window to get the Forbes Chevrolet 100 in today...

    Saturday at 3 p.m.
Practice has started and things remain "on track" as scheduled. We're heading out so check the track hotline (873.2277) for further updates...

    Saturday at 6:20 p.m.
They ran time trials - and you could barely see the cars on the other side of the track through the fog, followed by an impromptu drivers meeting on pit road, then came the Dash draw, then an announcement they were postponing until Sunday at 1 p.m.

Donald Chisholm set fast time in time trials and drew number one so will start from the pole in the dash on Sunday. The rest of the top 10 in time trials were: 2. Shawn Turple (drew #10), 3. John Flemming (drew #7), 4. Lonnie Sommerville (drew # 8), 5. Greg Proude (drew # 2), 6. Shawn Tucker (drew # 5), 7. Mike Stevens (drew # 6), 8. Chris Hughes (drew # 4), 9. Craig Slaunwhite (drew # 9), 10. Roger Miller (drew # 3)...There were 31 pro stocks in the pits...

    ------------------

    Sunday at 6:30 a.m.
Yikes - it's not raining and you can actually see some blue sky among the clouds! Forecast looks like a great afternoon for racing - finally...

    Sunday at 9:45 a.m.
It's clouded over but the forecast still calls for clearing; the plan remains to go as scheduled - with heat races starting at 1 p.m...

    Sunday at 11 a.m.
