Mother Nature has caused the second straight weekend cancellation of a CARQUEST Tour event. The Parts for Trucks 100 at Speedway 660 will be rescheduled for a later date.

CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour Invades Geary Woods Saturday Night

(June 23, 2009) - The Carquest Pro Stock Tour is heading to the Geary Woods this weekend and the Parts for Trucks 100. After a couple rain outs in the past couple weeks, everyone is ready to get back in action. Fans can expect to see another exciting night of racing under the lights at Speedway 660. There are around 30 cars expected to make the trip to the speedway this weekend. This is the only time that the tour will be at the track this season for a standalone event as they will be back again as part of the Peterbilt 250. If the Carquest tour events of the last couple of years are any indication, fans are in for another night of “on the edge of your seat” action. Time trials will start promptly at 6:10p.m.

Fans can expect to see some of the weekly points drivers from Speedway 660 in the lineup along with the regulars on the Carquest Pro Stock Tour. Some of the drivers include Fredericton’s Shawn Tucker, former track Champion Dave O’Blenis and Craig Slaunwhite, defending Peterbilt 250 Champion. Also points leader Lonnie Sommerville who had a great run in the PASS event, will looking to make his way to victory lane. Some of the local drivers may include last year’s points Champion Greg Fahey and Matt Harris who is having a great start to the 2009 racing season may b on track for the tour race.

In addition to the Parts for Trucks 100, fans will get to see weekly points racing in the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman and Coast Tire Street Stocks. Fans will see heats and features in both of these divisions. Point’s leader Brent Roy has been having a great season as well we have had some surprises this season with St. Martins, John Rankin who took his car to the Auto Pride Victory Lane, a few weeks back. In the Coast Tire Street Stock division, Heidi Cooper had a great finish last time out winning her feature. She will have to come from the back to challenge for the win this week. Drivers such as Brian Fox, Bill Belleville and Rob Raynes will be up for the challenge as they are all having a good season as well.

Last week’s Mascot Challenge has been rescheduled for August 22. There is still time to sign up your Mascot if you haven’t already by calling Angela at 454-RACE (7223).

Race fans don’t forget on the 4th of July in the Geary Woods under the lights is our FAN Fest 2009. This will be an exciting evening. Fans of all ages will have FREE ADMISSION to the evening’s event. There will be more details to follow. Race fans make sure to tell all your friends. This is an opportunity to recruit some new race fans. So make sure you check it out. It is sure to be WicKID fun for everyone.
