View From The Tower
By Andy Campbell - voice of the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour
Are we seeing the re-emergence of John Flemming?
I ask that because, in winning Saturday’s CARQUEST 100, he was
never really challenged. When I asked him in victory lane if it was as easy as it had
looked, Flemming said he was worried about a vibration in the front
right of the car and that he was waiting for something to break.
From the tower, or the grandstand for that matter, you’d never have
known. Click here for the rest of the story.

Flemming Gets Win Two on 06 CARQUEST Tour
HALIFAX, NS (2006 July 8) - UNOFFICIAL RESULTS - John Flemming scored his second win on the 2006 CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour
season at Scotia Speedworld Saturday night. Flemming led all 100 laps of the feature in spite of battling
a tight handling condition the entire race.
"There was another tenth in it," said Flemming after the race. "It was so tight it wouldn't turn in the corners so we
had to back off way early."
Which was probably good news for the rest of the competitors as Flemming easily stretched his lead to as much as a half lap on
longer green flag runs.
Brad Mann was second and Scott Alexander third. Shawn Turple and Mike MacKenzie rounded out the top five. 32 cars entered the
event and 27 started the feature. There were 10 caution periods and the race took approx. one hour 25 minutes to complete.
Flemming won round two of the four races now complete on the 06 CARQUEST Tour. That win came at New Brunswick International Speedway.
Gordie Ryan and Greg Proude won the other two races.
Mike MacKenzie set fast time in the time trials but drew starting spot nine in the Dash. Flemming was fifth quick in the time trials
but drew number one and won the Dash so he started from the pole for the feature - and never looked back.
Heat race winners were Dale Holmes, Mann and Kris Fournier. Dan MacKay won the B Feature.

- Defending series champion Rollie MacDonald had electrical problems in the time trials, thought they had it fixed, but succumbed to the same
problem on lap 11 of the feature. MacDonald parked his familiar No. 13 racecar and watched the race from pit road.
- Inaugural series champ Wayne Smith speculated his No. 44 racecar blew a head gasket in the engine on lap seven.
