Friday, August 18 - 3 p.m. update from Riverside Speedway
The cars hits the track at 12:20 - they had to figure out the new pit parking before the track would open. There are 22 pro stock and two legends here. Pro stocks are running the low 15 seconds round the track. Tour officials say the expected car count for Saturday is up to 34 pro stocks, with Dan Eddy, Cy Harvey, Bobby White and Dean McInnis added to the list... Workers are still going feverishly in the tower and around the grounds to prepare for the big re-opening tomorrow. They'll go round the clock, if necessary. I, for one, can say, I never dreamed I'd see a race track of this calibre in the Maritimes. Many thanks to John Chisholm and his staff...More later...

Friday, August 18 - 6:30 p.m. update
Had the drive home to reflect on the job done rebuilding this track and it's nothing short of amazing. Can't wait to see what the race tomorrow will offer - should be exciting...An estimated 100 RV's had already set up camp to enjoy the weekend. The biggest problem of the day seemed to be for Stacey Clements - looked like a motor problem - they loaded up and headed out, but said they'd be back tomorrow...Wasn't able to get a definitive answer on how many cars they'll start in the feature...However, was able to learn the gas stop should come between laps 75 and 125; they'll use a caution if one happens during that time, if not they'll throw the flag. Only gas during the stop if they want to start in the same position they were in when the caution flew (if it's a Tour caution for gas)...Regular rules will be applied if it's a "regular" caution...

We've redone the gallery, and added lots more pix...was great to have a connection at the track - but, wow, do you get spoiled with high speed...
