Rain Postpones PASS North NASCAR Night to Thursday
NAPLES, ME (July 12, 2006) - Heavy rains throughout New England have forced the postponement of Wednesday night’s Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Model event at Thompson International Speedway. The race has been rescheduled for Thursday, July 13th.
Practice at Thompson will begin at 2:00pm with heat races at 4:15pm and the first feature race of the event at approximately 6:00 pm.
NASCAR Nextel Cup personalities Kenny Wallace and Jimmy Spencer will both be competing in the event alongside PASS North stars Mike Rowe, Ben Rowe, Cassius Clark, Johnny Clark, Scott Mulkern, Corey Williams and current point leader Scott Chubbuck.
Cup Drivers and No Time Trials Will Jumble
Wednesday PASS Race
(Naples, ME – July 7, 2006) On Wednesday night, July 12th at Thompson International Speedway, E. Thompson, CT, the PASS North Super Late Model Series will entertain two “guests” for 75 green-flag laps of slam-bang action. Jimmy Spencer will be in the #2 P. T. Watts car that Stan Meserve hustled around Oxford last week and Kenny Wallace will be in the Community Pharmacies car out of the Mulkern Racing stable.
In addition to the two NEXTEL Cup stars in the PASS race, Speed TV commentator John Roberts will be on hand to handle the on-track introductions and race commentary.
The PASS North Super Late Models will be joined by many of the Thompson pro-stock regulars. Last year, Andy Johnson of Rehoboth, MA set fast time over all the touring guys. But, in 2006 there are no time trials in PASS North Super Late Model races. So depending on the random draw for the heat races, it will be a different race. A big field of cars and a bad draw can conspire against some of the top teams and drive them to the consi where anything can, and usually, happens.
In addition to the PASS 75, the Sunoco Modifieds, Late Models, TIS Modifieds, Limited Sportsman, and Mini Stocks will be featured.
