Patrick LaPerle Takes PASS Checkers At Oxford

(Naples, ME – July 1, 2006) A full field of 34 PASS North Super Late Models took the green from birthday girl Amanda Mayberry, daughter of PASS boss Tom Mayberry, in the Roy’s All–Steak Hamburgers/R & D Land Sales 150. The PASS regulars were joined by a number of Oxford regulars and teams that were looking for a tune up before the TDBankNorth 250, including Dave Dion, Brad Leighton, Kelly Moore, and Stan Meserve all the way up from Mooresville, NC for the holiday weekend.

Although the weather forecasters said it was going to be a sun-filled day with no rain, a quick shower interrupted practice at about 3pm and then a heavier shower moved in just as the fans were arriving at 6:15. It delayed the start for an hour and a half, but the Oxford fans kept coming, and when racing did get under way at 8pm a great crowd filled the grandstands. Click here for the rest of the story.

PASS North Super Late Models At Oxford Saturday

(Naples, ME – June 26, 2006) the PASS North Super Late Models will roar into Oxford Plains Speedway, Oxford, ME Saturday night July 1st for the Roy’s All-Steak Hamburgers/ R & D Land Sales 150.

The PASS season opener at Oxford on April 29th brought one of the biggest opening day crowds to Oxford in years and over 40 cars in the pits from all over northern New England, Quebec, and the Maritimes, and this Saturday we can expect the same as many teams will be using this race as their final tune-up prior to the TD BankNorth 250 at the end of the month. And check out the PASS officials in their brand spanking new uniforms from UniFirst, the official uniform sponsor of PASS.

Cassius Clark will be looking to make it four in a row as he took the opening day race, then Speedway 95, and the Canaan Fair Motorsports Complex show on May 27th, but the Rowes, Mike and Ben, Scott Chubbuck, Richie Dearborn, Travis Benjamin, and Johnny Clark will have something to say before it’s over Saturday night. Ricky Rolfe had a great run in the opener, and Alan Wilson is always a threat to make that outside groove work at Oxford. Don’t overlook young Corey Williams and Alan Tardif as well. Brad Leighton, Dale Shaw, Chuck LaChance, Kirk Thibeau, and Mike Parks aren’t coming to finish second. And you can’t forget any one of the Maritimers who could surprise.

It will be a great start to the Holiday weekend and a preview of the 250 for sure. The show starts at 6:30 with the Oxford Algren Appliance Late Models, Allen’s’ Mini Stocks, Allen’s’ Strictly Stocks, and the Limited Sportsman features.
