33rd Annual TD Banknorth 250
Oxford Plains Speedway - July 30, 2006
Nova Scotia native and North American short track racing legend Junior Hanley is the only Maritime Canadian racer to win the prestigious
and rich 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway. As you can see, Hanley won the race July 18, 1993 and collected $40,825 (American).

As predicted, the afternoon qualifying races saw lots of beating and banging...
Multi-time 250 winner 'Dynamite' Dave Dion had to go all the way to the "Hooligan's" race (Last Chance) to earn his
starting spot in the 250 - only the winner transferred...
One of the reasons for the 11 cautions and one red flag that slowed the event...
Jeremie Whorff, (left) and his dad, Bill Whorff Jr., finished first and second...Jeremie's win marks just the fourth time
in the event history that the race was won in a first successful qualifying attempt. At 22, Jeremie is the third youngest winner of the event.
