In his previous two starts at Phoenix, Fike had a top-20 qualifying effort in the #43 CAPG entry in 2004, and a
top-20 finish last November. Fike’s best career NBS finish came on a mile oval – eighth place at Pikes Peak International
Raceway – last July. In 2003, Johnny Sauter finished ninth in the #43 CAPG Dodge here at PIR.

in the spring 2005 event and glided through the field for a 2nd place finish in the fall event after qualifying 32nd.
His debut in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series was in 2005 at PIR where he came home in 22nd place. Clint Bowyer and his
Richard Childress racing teammate, Kevin Harvick are the only Busch Series drivers to complete all 1,482 laps of

Kyle Busch, No. 5 Lowe's/Hitachi Chevrolet
(4/19) Kyle Busch put on quite a show in his lone NASCAR Busch Series start at Phoenix International Raceway. The race
came in November 2004, at the end of his rookie year, when he started from the pole position and finished a close
runner-up to winner Jamie McMurray. Driving a No. 5 Chevrolet, Busch led 151 of 205 laps that day. Busch still holds the
Busch Series track record at PIR, which he set in November 2004 with a blistering qualifying lap of 26.902 seconds
