    Kenseth Makes Late Race Pass Over Harvick for Bristol Busch Series Win

    BRISTOL, TN (August 25, 2006) - Matt Kenseth held his breath and made an outside lane pass of Kevin Harvick with 17 laps remaining to win the Food City 250 NASCAR Busch Series race at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway Friday night.

    Kenseth started fourth in the Ameriquest Mortgage Ford, and paced himself for a late race charge to the front. It was his first NASCAR Busch Series win in 13 starts so far in 2006, and the first NASCAR Busch Series win ever for veteran crew chief Jimmy Fenning. Click here for the rest of the story.

    Post-Race Notes
    • Matt Kenseth won his first NASCAR Busch Series race of 2006 in his 13th start this season.
    • Kenseth's last series victory came on May 6, 2005 at Darlington.
    • This is Kenseth's third win at Bristol. His last win was in the spring race in 2001.
    • Kenseth started fourth en route to his victory today.
    • This was Kenseth's 19th career victory in 190 races.
    • Kenseth has eight top fives and 11 top-10 finishes in 13 NASCAR Busch Series races this year.


    Qualifying Notes
    • Busch Pole Winner: Ryan Newman (124.436 mph)
    • For Newman, this is his 11th career NASCAR Busch Series pole. It comes in his 30th series qualifying attempt; Newman qualified 43rd among a field of 47.
    • Today's Busch Pole is the first in four NASCAR Busch Series qualifying attempts for Newman at Bristol. He will make his fourth series start there tonight.
    • In three previous NASCAR Busch Series starts at Bristol, Newman finished sixth in the spring event of 2001 and eighth in the summer event. He won last August at Bristol.
