CheckersToWreckers.com was launched May 1, 2006. We are a racing news website that features regional stock car racing news from touring series and race tracks in the Maritime Provinces of Canada, as well as all the latest, hottest news from other top racing series, including NASCAR's Nextel Cup Series, Busch Series and Craftsman Truck Series.
Our extensive coverage is made possible through contacts we've made and maintained over the past 20+ years, both regionally and in the NASCAR ranks.
The name for our site came from our good friend, the late Scott Fraser (pictured above).
Often, in the closing laps of a race, if he knew he had a car that could win but wasn't leading yet, he would decide it was going to be either "Checkers or Wreckers."
As a matter of fact the image used in the background for the footer of this website is a car Scott raced to win the 1997 NTN Bearings 200 at Scotia Speedworld - it was the epitomy of 'Checkers To Wreckers.' After crashing on the last lap of the first half Scott returned to the track with this car, started at the back of the pack, and won !
We lost Scott in March 2004 - the victom of a tragic snowmobile accident; this website is forever dedicated to Scott's memory in hopes we can provide even a small percentage of the racing entertainment he gave us.
