NASCAR announced its Texas post-race inspection penalties Wednesday and the biggest was for the No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports team which was found to have inadequate bracing in the rear window area.

Crew Chief (Alan Gustafson) has been suspended for the next two Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Championship Points Events and fined $50,000.

Hendrick Motorsports will lose 20 owner points and Chase Elliott loses 20 driver points.

The penalty will not be appealed. In a statement, the team said the violation occurred because of an “unintentional support bracket failure” in the rear window.

This is the second time in the last two months that the No. 9 team has been hit with a major penalty.
