The stakes just got raised for Speedway Miramichi’s May Street Stock event. In honour of the tracks 50th Anniversary, the race will pay homage to a prestigious and popular former Sportsman race from the 90’s – that’s right, for the first time in 22 years, the Brunswick 100 will return.

A race which attracted droves of Sportsman cars from around the Maritimes, the Brunswick 100 traditionally was held on the New Brunswick Day long weekend in August during the early to mid 90’s. This race was so popular and prestigious that fans and drivers on the Miramichi continue to talk about it to this day, even though the event was last held in 1996. Brad Tozer took the checkered flag on that day.

“The Brunswick 100 is an event that fans continue to talk about, even two decades later. Speedway Miramichi is thrilled to be able to revive this event as part of our 50th Anniversary season.  It may not be on New Brunswick Day, and it may not be a sportsman race, but there is no doubt that the return of this event will be one of the most anticipated events in the tracks 50-year history.”

The 2018 Brunswick 100 Street Stock race will be held as part of Speedway Miramichi’s season opener on May 26th, on what promises to be a jam-packed afternoon. More details will be released in the future regarding the event, but it will include a full card of stock car racing, demolition action, 50th Anniversary celebrations for the speedway.

In addition, laps for the Brunswick 100 are now on sale for $50 each. Lap money will be used to build a strong purse for the street stock race. Laps can be ordered and purchased by emailing speedwaymiramichi@gmail.com.

Drivers and fans are reminded that the deadline to purchase Season Passes for $50 has been extended through the end of March, but only a limited quantity remain. Drivers are also asked to pre-register for the 2018 season on the Speedway Miramichi website.
